how to make the D's RC1 install 'sid'?

I am new to Linux/Debian, but I am trying to learn. I installed sarge several days ago using the netinst CD image with the new RC1 installer, and then I had to make several programs (for example the new version of maxima) from the unstable version work on sarge and fight my way through a complicated process of installing libraries, etc. which ended up in reinstalling the complete system :-)

so I was thinking, after I looked in the install CD, that there must be at least a way to configure the Debian RC1 net installer to select all the files I need from other versions, or even change the installer to let you choose the between versions (sarge, sid, woody, etc.) and still fit it on one CD but I counld not find any info in the howtos, how you coud modify the RC1 installer !

If you give me some clues, if it could be done, or how it could be done I will be extremely grateful...

When you are asked to configure the apt source list, edit the sources by hand and make it point to unstable.

Code:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/ testing main
change to
Code:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/ unstable main

if you start the installer with the command expert, it will ask you which version to install.

I'm not sure if it works with the cd that already has base system, but it does with the 50mb businesscard ones.
