How to get 3D Acceleration on a X850 XT PE

Hi, I was wondering how I would about getting 3D acceleration, I have 'dri', and 'glx' in my module section of XFree86's config, but I'm using the 'VESA' driver because, so far I can't find any drivers for my card. Also, does anyone know how I could get the 'fglrx' driver to not make my screen all weird.

I would like to get 3D Acceleration for cedega and 3D Desktop, but I don't really know how to do it. If someone could point my in the right direction or help me I would be very grateful

Thanks in advance, Buck

I've used this method many times before with my 9800XT and I'm about to use it for my X800 as soon as I upgrade my kernel - it builds ati's drivers into debs for you or you can use his prebuild packages.

good luck

32bit or 64bit?

If 32 then the above link is the way to go, if you haven't already tried the new installer from ATI. It works great for me with my 9800pro. Unfortunately I have not been able to get it to work on my amd64 install.

was I right in just downloading the binary, and then setting my driver fglrx, because that just makes X sail to start?
