how to display the broken dependences in the terminal

Hi, I have some broken dependences, to view them using synaptic, some of them I had fixed using dpkg instead of the repos, my question is: is there a way to display those broken dependences in the terminal instead of use synaptic?

I've already checked the man of dpkg but I didn't find anything, so if you can help I'll appreciate it.

Regards

aptitude update
aptitude install

that should list all the broken packages and dependencies and allow aptitude the chance to fix them

Using aptitude from the command line
