Hi,
I tried to find a simple document which explain how to create a local
mirror, but I can't, all I found are complicated or not complete
enough!!??
My goal is simple:
I want to create a local mirror from CD's, I downloaded CD or DVd, I
want to create a mirror for my University ( just loacl) to install
from there on any machine, by using netinstall. ( or thru pxe);
I can't use direct connexio to internet to create Mirror (i haven't
good link!!!), I want create it from CD.
Hi,
I want to use the netinstall CD to install from my local repository which contains the official CD1, Can I redirect the URL to my local site and not to the official, is there a possible customizing? because the access to the net is difficult and want to repeat the procedure on several machines.
Yes you can. Edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list to point apt(itude) to your local repo. Make sure you follow the guidelines on the Debian website for that. http://www.debian.org/mirror/ftpmirror

During the install process?

Yes, he can. The netinstall CD only sets up a bare basic system. Select nothing if asked what kind of system to install, and refuse the networkmirror option. Then edit the aformentioned file by hand, using nano (or emacs, vi, whatever) to point it to the local mirror, fire up aptitude and install from the local repository. Done

Are you sure, I hope that? I mean the installer search for a precise type of distro, (etch, sid, lenny), so I have may be to choose the appropriate one, If I use the stable netinstall, I have to use the etch CD's.
Anyway I 'll try it thanks
