How to consult the hardware configuration


Hello,

I wonder how can I see under Debian/KDE what is my CPU/RAM/Video card etc.

Thank you.

Run "kinfocenter" from a terminal under KDE, or search it up in the menus.

this is it, thanks

is the model number the version of the processor ? and why information abour video card is stored as OpenGL/Direct Rendering/3D Accelerator ?

The "model name" shows processor family and version.
I don't actually use kinfocenter, you just asked for how to get info under KDE. AFAIK it just gathers information from:
lspci -v
lsusb -v
cat /proc/cpuinfo
cat /proc/meminfo
free
and so on. Try these commands from a terminal and study other files under /proc/ for more information.

lshw run as root shows you a lot about the hardware as well providing you installed it of course.
