how to change source.list from knoppix to the debian one?


How to change source.list from knoppix 3.4 to debian us one ?

the source.list from knoppix uses ftp.de.debian.org link need the us one I think , also both testing and unstable are enable in knoppix 3.4 (SID)

could someone post the source.list from sid so I can paste and update the knoppix one

could someone post(Copy & Paste) the source.list from sid so I can paste and update the knoppix one, I what to see the normal Us source.list from Sid

This is the one I use and it works great for me!

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib

deb-src http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US sid/non-US main contrib

I don't know if it will work with Knoppix but I don't see why not either.

maybe I need to be more specific , is that all I need in source.list , from the post above , no other links needed for linux debian sid ?

Here my source.list file from knoppix 3.4 on hard drive

our all this needed or what really needed for the US version of the source.list file? I want to do a full update from knoppix sid to debian sid , so whats needed? also I their any portage projects for debian sid? based on the deb file type?

I am not sure about adding Us links into source.list , if it will break my linux or

basic I just need to add the us links to the source.list file right ? I don
t need to delete the non-us ones right? its a bit unsure about which is better the defeault ones or someones posted ones?

by the way, I think you spelled american wrong , or were you just trying to be funny , I only know english (US,Ca langaurge anyway)
a bit of spanish , when I was little I know a few words, but can't spell them

no....i am graduate engineer from Universitat Heidelburg in Germany and Columbia University NY

i am austrian from Sazlburg....and occasionally i intermix german spelling with the english...

i am not a student any longer... i run my own air charter business

apt-setup


should help to change /etc/apt/sources.list

Well of course you would need other links for other software, such as mplayer, KDE, etc etc etc.

But that is a basic source list for debian sid I posted.

When I install Debian, I may use the Woody cd and do a very basic install and once net is connected, then use apt-get dist-upgrade to install the newer stuff, along with adding other links for other software I may need.
