How to build a Custom Linux?

I want to develop a custom based Linux like, Knoppix, Gentoo , etc. I don't know how to proceed and documents related to this area. Kindly, required your help.

if you want to make your own live distro, one of your options is:

if you wanna make your own "regular" distro, this is the main guide for doing that:

A relatively easy way to "morph" your own Debian/Morphix based custom Live-CD is TROM:
