How much will debian hate this graphics card?
Ok, I'm constructing the computer of my dreams and it will be finished by tomorrow. I'll be throwing debian on it (the amd64 port). There is one problem: I won't have the money for a graphics card for a month so until then I'm stuck with a SiS Mirage 2 integrated graphics module? (I dunno how you refer to it, not card... whatever). Anyways, can anyone tell me what to expect from this little guy? Is there any chance I'll be able to get X going? Thanks guys.

Hello,
It might not be a match made in heaven!! You need to do a little research on the bad boy. But i expect you will be able to get it to run, But you probably won't get good graphics performaces if it is not properly supported by X11. Or as you say - it might not work at all! How new is that Motherboard |

It should work with the vesa driver at least. Slow... but anyway. |
Mirage? *shudder*
Man, let's just hope vesa works for you. Otherwise it's a long, painful and text-filled road for the box of your dreams. |
so actually, it's working perfectly (except for the lack of 3D hardware acceleration... ouch). The good side, my ati card should be here within the week and I know a guy who's got it running. W00t
