Instead of downloading over and over again you'll beter just update your programs (apt-get, aptitude, etc). (This is in case you don't really need the cd's up to date).
I haven't downloaded the CD's except the first one and then installed everything I needed over the internet. And this happend quite a while ago. For now I don't need them because I have an internet connection...
But I have a slower internet connection, and Downloading those Cds counts to me.
But I have a simple question to solve for you.
As per the article, I need to download the Debian 3.0 r5 update Cds, if I want to update my current revision(mine is r4).
But I have downloaded the r4 update cds, thinking that they are for r4 revision(and they would have the regular updates, all in a cd.)
Plz guide.
There is going to be a r6 by the end of the month (May) from what I have just read earlier tonight on a Debian mailing list. So you may want to hold off on the r5 or since Sarge is going to be the new stable just slightly after this you may want to get its install disks and give that a try.
You download that update CD's from that slow connection? If so, wouldn't be better to update just the packages you use, and not getting every package that was updated, but you may or may not have installed?
