How do I set Firefox as go to browser

I've tried using Preferred Applications to set Thunderbird as my mail reader and firefox as my browser, but Konqueror keeps coming up as my browser.

Which version of KDE are you using? It might be a small bug... or maybe your preferences aren't getting saved.

I think it's KDE3. I'm running a new install of Debian Sarge .

If you are using bash as your shell, you can add/change the following line in your .bashrc file

export BROWSER=firefox

I think it will make firefox your default browser.
