Help! Can not get acrobat plugin to work with iceweasel

I am right in the middle of some filings I have to do for the government, and I can not get the acrobat plugin to work.

I have acroread-8 (not 7) installed. I also installed the plugin:

aptitude install acroread-plugins

But, I can not get the plugin to work. When I click "manual install" it just wants to download acrobat again.

Try: aptitude install mozilla-acroread

Important not to mix the downloaded Adobe Reader with the debian-multimedia.org version. The debian-multimedia.org version has been working fine for me in Iceweasel. Wish I could help further, but just in case you did install direct from Adobe, purge anything you installed from the debian-multimedia site, uninstall the Adobe version, then install the stuff from debian-multimedia. If that is what you've got there, a mixed setup of both.
