Have a laugh, can't remember a basic command

Stupid, I know. I just can't copy a directory anymore!
What the *!@#! is the command? I've tried the cp -r cp -R but that's not is. All I wanna do is copy a directory (with all its contents) from /home/me/some/dir to /home/me/dir (/home/me/dir does not exist yet).

This is like drag and drop in KDE but I need to do it by command line on a server.

cp -r should be the right command. Is there an error it is giving you? Do you have the right permissions to copy all the files?
