Has apt-proxy been killed off?

Some time this week (can't be more specific) apt-proxy began to fail to start.

The strange thing is that when I went to look up the bug reports there were none, at all.

Searching through packages.debian.org revealed that it is only in the distribution "oldstable"

Would anybody know if it has been discontinued? The web site was last updated in 2005!

Change to apt-cacher-ng, it has similar functionality. If the website was last updated 2005 I would assume that it is discontinued.
