Gstreamer on debian broken?

Hi.

Not sure where to post this. I'm trying to use Gstreamer on Debian Squeeze 6.0.3 to record video from a camera, but it seems the "OGGs" it produces are bad. I'm using the following command line:

Code:
gst-launch-0.10 v4l2src ! queue ! videorate ! video/x-raw-yuv,framerate=15/1 ! videoscale ! video/x-raw-yuv,width=720,height=480 ! ffmpegcolorspace ! theoraenc quality=40 ! oggmux ! filesink location=$FILENAME
and when I try to convert or extract clips from the OGGs with ffmpeg, I get garbled output. Opening the "OGGs" in "cinelerra" also gives garble. Also, they don't seem to play in Windows VLC, but I can play them in Debian VLC but the "length" indicator shows "--:--". I tried running some verification programs on them like oggz-validate and ogginfo, which gave warnings/errors of "serialno 1590263088: missing *** eos" and "WARNING: EOS not set on stream 1" respectively. It didn't seem to do this in earlier debian, but I could be wrong. Could it be a bug? Or something else? If so, what?

Never mind, I just got it. Passing "-e" to gstreamer solved the warnings and it appears the FFmpeg was bugged -- an upgrade to 5.0.7 fixed that. Still giving "--:--" though, not sure what's up with that bit...

Mark this bugger solved then. Only the OP can do this. Look at the top panel of this page under "thread tools".

That way someone with this problem can find it with a forum search and know it is resolved,

And the rest of us can ignore it.
