Grub and framebuffer

Hi,

I'm using Debian Squeeze with grub2.
It's seems that vga=normal boot parameter in grub is totally ignored.. and I still get the framebuffer.
How can I override the vga parameter?
Thankyou

Hi j1alu,

I partially solved the problem: during the first few seconds, I get the right resolution (for example: 640x480, setting this with GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480 in /etc/default/grub).
During the kernel boot, at some point I read "switching to framebuffer device" and the resolution become higher.
My goal is to keep resolution low (my screen is little
Thank you

If you don't use radeon, nouveau, orany other driver that depends on kms to operate properly, disable it (=the kms) using the "nomodeset" parameter for the kernel bootup line.
