Gnome

I'm new to linux and i'm trying to install gnome on Debian (kernel 2.6) with "apt-get install gnome". Next i'm trying to start it with "startx", but then i get an error about X11 or something. He doesn't seem to be able to find certain files and folders.. I hope you guys have enough info this way. If not, i'll post some more info.

Thanks in advance.
