I had kde installed on my debian system and all worked fine.
At some point I thought I go with gnome 2.4
To make a long story short I installed gnome 2.4 after uninstalling all of the kde packages ( I wanted I pure gnome system)
Everything works ok except one thing.
I can't setup my printer with the foomatic drivers. I go and start the gnome cups configuration wizard. But the foomatic drivers don't show anywhere. only the cups and cups+gimp drivers. What am I doing wrong? Am I misssing something? do I need to install anything?
I have installed every foomatic package I found and cups drivers too.
Can anyone please help me?

have you tried the web-based config tool?
try going to http://127.0.0.1:631 in your favourite web browser, and see if all of the correct drivers are listed there. If they are.... well.... you might just want to use that for now, as I'm not familiar with GNOME's printer setup. If they're not, you may want to consider installing the cupsomatic package (that's what I did on my debian box)
