GLknots (xscreensaver) kills X session.

Hya,

to whom it may concern.

my systems: Debian squeeze up to date. (32 bit Aspire one and 64 bit Atom)

symptom GLknots, one of xscreensaver kills X session. Entire screen got blank, keyboard and mouse do not work at all. Killing parent shell via ssh does not solve. So far, only restarting entire system works.

workaround disable GLknots

Is this a problem only for GLknots? or for any GL-type screen saver (GLHanoi, GLCells, GLSchool, etc)?

Hya,

It is ONLY GLknots. Other GL***'s are ok.

Also, I checked non-atom ones, one Core2 duo, one Celeron, both ok.

That's strange then. Maybe the glknots is knackered. Have you tried reinstalling it?
And very many Happy Penguins to you. :)

Hya,

No, I have not reinstalled. I will try as soon as possible. But, strange thing is that it happened to two (32bit Acer laptop, and 64bit desktop (nettop)) penguins.

Happy Penguins!

Hya,

I reinstalled xscreensaver-gl and extra.

Now many gl-screensavers choke. Log reads
