Getting PureFTPd to startup auto

Hi all, ive been trying to figure out how to get PureFTPd to startup when the machine is ever rebooted with out having to do it manually. I put it in the init.d file but it never starts on its own when i reboot the machine. Any suggestions?

If you installed from apt it should have setup the init scripts automatically.

nx5000, won't you need to put in a symlink to shut it down too?

Oops right
RC6 is the one called upon reboot so you need at least this one.
Code:
cd /etc/rc6.d/
ln -s ../init.d/pureftpd K50pureftpd
If you want that when you switch from runlevel 2 (default when booting) to runlevel 3 pureftp is stoped you would put the same 'K line' in /etc/rc3.d.

Wouldn't it soon be easier with:
update-rc.d pureftpd start 50 2 3 4 5 . stop 50 0 1 6 .
Adjust the runlevels if you want.

Yes that's cleaner.
Thanks for correcting.
