gdm3 background problems


trying to set the gdm3 wallpaper, but the instructions on this page no longer work:

any suggestions?

Try /etc/gdm3/greeter.gconf-defaults .

yeah, I tried this file and had no good results. It just doesn't seem to work. I tried running 'dpkg-reconfigure gdm3' afterwards, thinking that it might cement things, but it does nothing.

I have the same problem with my Sid install and think that /usr/gdm/greeter-settings/xy_desktop-base.gschema.override may be the problem.

I have edited it from here but have not gotten the time for that last couple of days to pop over there to check to see if it worked.

Thanks a lot. /usr/share/gdm/greeter-settings/xy_desktop-base.gschema.override contained the correct line to edit. Thanks so much.

That is great to know, as I said, I have edited the bugger but not had time to switch over there to see.
