gdm problem after apt-get dist-upgrade

hi
working on "testing" after a recent apt-get dist-upgrade:

when doing
Code:
/etc/init.d/gdm start
nothing happens and gdm is not running.
checking
/var/log/gdm/:0.log (most current file)

Code:
SetClientVersion: 0 9
SetGrabKeysState - disabled

what does that mean, driver problems?

but startx works, it just loads gnome, but I want gdm to start.

thx alot

Recent dist-upgrades in testing have been a little iffy with the xorg 7.0 update. Things like gdm sometimes get lost. Try apt-cache policy gdm to make sure it's installed
If it's not, apt-get install gdm
