Fonts

There is a lack of certain fonts in mstcorefonts...

I've tryed to take all the fonts from Win XP and drop them to "fonts:///" in nautilus...
It worked but there were several problems with them:

Sometimes some letters dissapear in AbiWord or OpenOffice Writer... as if there where no letter in some zooms of text...

I uninstalled them (local drag&drop doesn't affect all the system thus I just deleted the new one)...

How can I add fonts that not present in mstcorefonts package? without having a trouble?

Thanks

If your new fonts are under .fonts/ in your home directory, then maybe running "fc-cache" as normal user and adding the path to your local fonts into /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 might help? After doing this, you may want to run "fc-cache -f" as root, and also "dpkg-reconfigure libpango1.0-common" and "dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig".
