flash player is jumpy in ice weasel (64 bit)

I'm running debian lenny 64 bit. I have the latest flash player installed as of two weeks ago from adobe labs. I'm using iceweasel to view a flash movie (southparkstudios.com) and it's very skippy. The sound plays fine so I don't think it's a network lag issue. It looks like what I would expect if I didn't have sufficient processor power or RAM. It played fine on the same system with ubuntu (hardy and intrepid) installed, however.

The output from `top` shows that iceweasel is using the maximum CPU load available (usually around 80%) bringing up the CPU load to over 100%. I've tried killing any program using more than 1% CPU that is not essential and this just results in iceweasel taking up more resources.

2GB RAM
2.4GHz 64bit AMD processor
NVIDIA 9600GT video card

If anyone has any ideas as to where I could look to find why my system resources are being consumed so much that would be very helpful, thank you.

I used iceweasel at the beginning, but I eventually built Firefox from source for 64-bit systems. I had the same problem, but when I used Firefox, everything was ok. I can tel you how to build it, if you are interested. It's actually kinda complicated.

Thanks, Rabbit. I was hoping there was an easier fix but I guess I'll have to try this. =)

I appreciate your offering to help me build it. I think it'll be more fun to try it by myself but if I get stuck I'll definitely let you know.

Peace.
