LinuxQuestions.org - First boot feature

I am creating a Kiosk style web machine image which I plan to deploy out to other machines. Previously, they were running openSUSE 11.4 which I capture an image using Ghost and was able to deploy the image to these other PCs. Once the image was deployed SUSE had a firstboot feature which I was able to configure networking, hostname, and all the other machine specific details and off it went. I am looking at Debian because updates appear to be slower and I can maintain the stability of these machines easier, so it appears. What I am wondering is if I used this same process of creating my image with Debian and Ghost, ext3 file system, when I deploy the image is there an easy method to configure the machine specific settings for each machine, hostname, IP address, and things like that with Debian? For the record I am just trying to create a Kiosk web machine that supports Flash, Java and Multimedia so users can browse sites and I need the ability to print to a printer. I am trying to make administration easy and end users happy. I found several articles to create a Debian Kiosk which the browser opens up full screen and I can print just need to see how I would deploy the image and post configuration for each machine since I more familiar with RPM based distributions SUSE CentOS.
