Fedora Core 4
Hello All,
Is anybody had installed FC4? I mean Debian Sarge users... My instant Linux usage for home desktop purposes had began from FC3 but after 2 month I've moved to Debian Sarge - due to lower stability and some sound issues in FC... It was very good distro but Debian was better for me... If anybody had installed FC4 - how is it? It includes OpenOffice 2.0 Gnome 2.10 KDE 3.4... Is it worth to install it? |
Check the package listings from the Fedora website or a mirror.

I ask in terms of stability/relability in comparison with Debian Sarge... I didn't like FC3 - it was significanlty slower then Sarge and also had more bugs... I've read that FC4 has improved speed in comparison with FC3... and what I'm interested in is overall opinion of Sarge user. Before I give it a try... |
Sorry I thought you also wanted to know what packages were in it. Anyway I re-read your post and indeed it ws an error on my part. The best way for you to decide whether Fedora Core 4 is suitable for you is to test it on your own hardware because your experiences may differ from others. You say Fedora Core 3 was unstable and slow, for me it was quite reliable and stable. This shows that peoples experiences differ, so its always best to test a distro yourself and reach your own conclusions. :)
