FAT32 and my kernel

After editing my fstab , I got this message

mount: fs type fat32 not supported by kernel

I figured I needed a more recent kernel, so I upgraded to 2.6.7 using the instructions on the above siticky post... anyway, it still won't work.

So is there some module I could apt-get and install ? I'm still a pure n00b to Debian and I don't want to mess up my system after downloading so many packages, so I prefer to ask.

The filesystem designation for FAT32 is vfat.

For more information see man pages for mount and fstab

I REALLY should be banging my head against the wall now. And I will.

Thanks.
