failed to create initrd
edit: nevermind, I deleted debian and put on DSL
I upgraded a debian computer with K6 cpu. I upgraded the kernel 2.4 to a 2.6, but I did pick the 686 version instead of the 386 or 486 I needed.. Now the system doesn't boot anymore..
I booted with the livecd INSERT and chrooted into the debian install. I apt-got the 2.6 486 kernel-image. But during installation it always fails to create the initrd, it says it doesn't find an appropriate mkinitrd tool to make it. I installed both initramfs-tools and yaird, but it doesn't work.
How should I make the initrd file?
