Ext3 or Ext4?

Hi

We would like to setup Squeeze with Gnome on DELL Optiplex GX260 Desktops, 8-9 years old and use them as user workstations.
Which file system can you recommend, Ext3 or Ext4?

I'm still using ext3 (because I haven't bothered reinstalling Squeeze or upgrading my ext3 partitions to ext4) and it works fine. But ext4 is stable and well supported nowadays. I think it's even the default in the installer. I would probably go with ext4.

if you use real small disks ext1.5?

If you plan on having large numbers of files, large files, or a lot of file movement, there are some serious advantages to using EXT4. If you are not planning on using EXT4, I hear that JFS is very good for database volumes.
