Since my Debian Sarge was corrupted I decided to reinstall the whole system. Now i'm running Debian Lenny.
I can't get Exim4 over ssl/tsl to work anymore.

I get these messages in /var/log/exim4/mainlog:

2009-02-01 11:38:02 SMTP protocol synchronization error (input sent
without waiting for greeting): rejected connection from H=win
[192.168.1.3] input="\026\003"

I have googled about this but can't find any solution to this problem?
Does anyone know how to solve this or do I have to try other MTA like Postfix instead?

Seems like the mailserver only can handle STARTTLS or non encrypted. TLS 1.0, SSL 2.0 SSL 3.0 doesn't work anymore since the upgrade to Lenny.
Can anyone explain the differences between STARTTLS and SSL?

Since STARTTLS is the only one working, how do I disable non encrypted outgoing emails? I want to only allow STARTTLS.
