etch and rt61


i installed the rt61 driver from source and all went well. i still cant connect to the network. network manager was useless, so i removed it and installed wicd. still no connection, but it does recognize my network. when i do a dmesg i get the following; driver using /proc/wireless/net support, please fix driver. what didi do wrong and what can i do to fix it?

etch and wireless networking

i have a ralink 2600 mimo. its a linksys WMP54GR ver 4.1. i just installed gutsy tribe4 and everything was automatically detected. the driver, the home network and that im using wpa.but i would still like to get etch working properly, and thats mainly what im working on now.

I do not have any experience with that particular hardware but I did find this tutorial. Hope it helps.

etch and wireless networking

i finally got my wireless card (rt61) to work with etch. it seems that all i had to do was use the iwpriv commands from a terminal and i was connected to my home network. it was pointed out to me by a fellow on the wicd forum.
