LinuxQuestions.org - Error While Installing Flashplugin Package: Upstream Website Modified, No License...

firstly, i'm not asking a question. i've been dinking around with linux for years, and i haven't posted a single question in any forums. i've found that in the vast majority of cases, if i'm having an issue, someone else has likely had that same issue and has started a thread about it somewhere. this time, i googled: '"upstream website modified" cannot find license'. since my query returned zero results, i'm hypothesizing that our friends at macromedia decided to change a link somewhere but forgot to let everyone know about it. so far i have:

1) attempted to install the flashplugin-nonfree package (7.0.25-5) with aptitude

2) tested the installation by typing "about:plugins" on the firefox address bar. there was no reference to the flash plugin. i then attempted to view some flash content, but was only able to view the puzzle piece.

3) uninstalled flashplugin 7.0.25-5 through aptitude

4) downloaded the testing version of the .deb file (7.0.61-1.2_i386) from debian's site. since there were no dependency issues, i installed the package with the dpkg -i command. i then received the message, "upstream website modified cannot find license".

5) uninstalled flashplugin 7.0.61.2. i didn't try the unstable version because it appeared to be the exact same file.

i answered a few questions during the setup, but i was never presented with a licensing agreement. given that flash is a bunch of proprietary filth, i'm guessing that the software is being disabled because i didn't say yes to the agreement (even though i never had a chance to).

i'm not asking for help, i'm just wondering whether anyone else got this error, can repeat this error, and if so, who should be notified. i know that if it is really a simple bad link, the problem will probably be solved quickly.
