Editing source list for kde & gnome


install synaptic by typing following command,
#sudo apt-get install synaptic

find appropriate working sources as per your requirement,

MY Default source list is given below,

deb-src http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib
# wheezy-updates, previously known as 'volatile'

ADD any new repository via terminal, open terminal,
switch to root. then run following command,
#sudo apt-cdrom add
keep doing this as per your requirements.
you can also add DVD/CD repos, Update Disks etc.

FOR KDE USER,FOLLOW THIS COMMANDS,

PRESS ALT+F2,

little popup with search bar will open at the top center corner,type following their,

kdesu kwrite /path/to/file

and press enter, give the root password,
and edit the file you want,

another terminal based method includes,
file editing using "nano" text editor,

Open terminal as root,& type,
nano path/to/file (press enter)
if your file is present it will open up with some
contains, and if you found it blank then you're going to create it at particular location given.

I thought adding Gnome and KDE packages was as simple as having

deb http://ftp.tw.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main
deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main
in the sources.list file and entering

# apt-get install name-of-package
