Where in the menu file should the boot appear?

After the chainloader I'd reckon.

But before you do that, try it from the command line. At the grub boot menu, hit "c" (no quotes) before the time-out expires.
Then type "rootnoverify (hd" and hit the "tab" key. Grub tab-completes, and shows you available options - in your case presumably 0 only.
add the zero then a comma, and hit the "tab" key" again. Grub will list all the partitions it can see. Add the zero and a closing bracket and hit "enter".
Then "chainloader +1" and "enter".
Then "boot" and "enter".

Will tell you if you can get the W2K system up.
