dselect hassles...

Having a power struggle with dselect...

Trying to install a new program via dselect but for some reason it keeps trying to install some files/programs that failed to install the last time. Can I purge them some how from deselect, or is it a line by line effort? Dselect will not install the new program until it has finished with the last lot, but I don't want them anymore. Have looked at the help file and pressed every key on the keyboard but nuttin' works. I may have to carry on the previous failed install - which I now don't want...

Any takers?

cheers...pix

Moving to the Debian Forum where you are likely to get more relevant answers ;)

Is there a .deselect file in your ~ directory? If you do, maybe removing that will stop the attempts for the files you don't want? Other than that, I can only think maybe letting it continue, just cue up the files you do want, when you are done, simply remove those files that are getting installed that you don't want

:)

Cool

Acutally I got it to work! Key stroke error and maybe a new pair of glasses...:o

(Sometimes it is the simplest thing!)
