Question Driver for Prolink Hurricance 8000 DSL Modem

I have a Prolink Hurricance 8000 ADSL Modem. It comes with the driver for MS Windows. As I am new to Linux, I plan to install Linux (ubuntu) into my PC. However I don't have the necessary driver to utilise this modem.

Can anyone advise where I may be able to locate the driver software?

Thanks

The only time you need drivers for a modem is to support a direct USB network connection. If your modem has an RJ-45 port, you don't need any drivers. I would recommend you return your modem and get a different model if an RJ-45 port is absent. It will make things much simpler. However, if you are determined to figure out how to do the USB network connection with your modem, the following link seems to be the definitive answer on how to do it. If it is not, I'm sure someone one will correct me. I have never attempted USB networking myself. Sorry, I can't be more help than this.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately in this case, it is an existing ADSL modem I got.
