dma at boot, which rc.* to use

Just have a quick question about wanting to enable DMA on my new debian install.
I previously ran slackware and added the line
hdparm blahblah /dev/hda to the rc.d/rc.local and it worked great.
Just curous about how to do the same in Debian, where to add the line and/or what I have to do.

Thanks in advance

/etc/hdparm.conf

My system (sarge 2.4.26-1-k7 #1) defaults to dma=1 for /dev/hda/
Checkout the /etc/hdparm.conf file.

Also check out that you actually have the hdparm package installed. /etc/hdparm.conf makes no difference if you haven't got the actual hdparm package installed.

AFAIK, Sarge ships with DMA enabled and you don't need hdparm to change that.
