Divfix++ AVI repair for Linux debian etch

Hello

there is this for Ubuntu:
http://ralph.n3rds.net/index.php?/ar...r-preview.html
could we get a deb for debian etch, by chance ?

Code:

# dpkg -i divfix++_0.26+3v1ubuntu0_i386.deb
Selecting previously deselected package divfix++.
(Reading database ... 205975 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking divfix++ (from divfix++_0.26+3v1ubuntu0_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of divfix++:
 divfix++ depends on libc6 (>= 2.4-1); however:

thanks

Why do you ask here, when the Debian-dev's appear not sensitive to your arguments? Makes you look a bit 'pushy', not wanting to accept others don't see it your way. :tisk:

But, if you really want that package, just repackage the Ubuntu one for Debian and submit. :rolleyes:

My :twocents:

"DivFix++ designed to repair broken avi file streams by rebuilding index part of file."
How about using aviindex from the transcode package?

I'm pretty sure I said "How about using aviindex from the transcode package". I'm also pretty sure that in Engrench, Frenglish or French that does not translate to "How about using mplayer -idx".

Well It is indeed a nice program but I got this:
Code:

aviindex  -i Film.avi -o Film-rebuilt.avi
[aviindex] Unrecognized format

Even if it does hit debian, you won't see it in etch.

You can try adding to your repo list
deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty 3v1n0

then (as root) apt-get build-dep divfix++
then (as user) apt-get --build source divfix++

What does 'mplayer -noquiet -v -identify -nocache -vo null -ss 99999 Film.avi' or any other log from any other app (mediainfo) or player (VLC, Xine) say about the contents?
