Display not proper using vesa driver(AMD)
Hi,
I just installed debian (sarge) on my AMD machine(AMD GX-500 processor) with CS5535 companion chip(display adapter). Since there is no support for this graphic device, I am using vesa driver. I installed GNOME,GDM,XORG. Everything works fine except that my screen is bit off. I mean everything is towards the right bottom section of the monitor screen. For e.g. my login manager screen is not at the center but rather towards the right side and half the login screen is now hidden. I am sure you must have seen situtations like this and I am sorry if I am not able to put in proper words as I don;t know the correct technical term for this.
ALso, during the installation I had to give the parameter vga=771 so that the dialog boxes at least appears on the screen. Without this option(vga=771) they were way off the screen.
Can anyone help me? Is there any website for AMD processors on Linux(or debian)?
Thanks
