Question Disable debian Firewall!!!!!!

I have install debian on my server, I am using the command line, I have set up bind but can't do nslookup, I would like to know how can I find out if a firewall is enable on the debian and how to disable it if one is up!!!

/sbin/iptables -L will show you if you have any firewall rules. If you only have three short sections that all seem to be blank, you don't have any rules in your firewall.

If you need to clear the rules, try /sbin/iptables -F which will flush the ruleset. Then do the first line again and it should be empty...
