DHCP not working on etch, Marvell Yukon card on a laptop, 2.6 kernel, netinst
Hello.
My card and dhcp work fine on WinXP, but when I try to netinst etch on my some kind of noname laptop, DHCP doesn't work. The cable is ok, because it runs perfectly on winxp.
You can't do a netinstall via wireless card ... You have to have a wired connection. Secondly, Marvell cards have a very bad reputation on Linux, but tell us the exact model, and see if anyone knows how to deal with it.
I have a wired connection and it detects my card during installation, but I don't know the exact model of the card, I don't know how to get it using winxp, i'm not quite used to winxp The device manager says it's generic marvell yukon based ethernet controller, but nothing more. I think I read somewhere that sky2 module controls it in 2.6 kernel.
