dhcp configure help
 
i am facing net problem in my PC.

at startup i get

DHCP request from 192.168.0.1
DHCP request from 192.168.0.31
(then i can use net)

and some times if i get request from 192.168.0.31 frist then i can't access net

DHCP request from 192.168.0.31
DHCP request from 192.168.0.1
(then i can't use net)



questions:

1. how to distable DHCP to get request from 192.168.0.31 (now my everything is auto)
2. is there any gui for configure DHCP in sarge and sid.
3. how to solve this problem

(note: i have no fixed IP address, locally)

now i am usign windows XP, Sage and Sid in my PC.

Even though your explanation is absolutely not clear, i'll take a guess :

You have 2 dhcp servers installed on your local network. Disable dhcp server on the machine that is not suppose to run one (ie the one that is not your router, probably the machine having the ip 192.168.0.31).

but as a user how i can do that ? (is it possible)
i have told my server admin (he may disbale it tomorrow).

There's not much you can do except configuring your ip as static and not use DHCP.

Your admin on the other hand can (either one)
1- completely disable the dhcp server that screws your config
2- configure that server correctly so that it does not respond to client it is not supposed to respond to (based on device MAC adress for example)
