/dev/dsp and mixer are no gos...

Artsd works fine with KDE 3.3, kernel 2.6.7, and alsa. But any program that tries to use /dev/dsp (a symlink to /dev/dsp0), or any program that tries to use /dev/mixer (a symlink to /dev/mixer0). Both permission bits are 666, and I'm part of the audio group too. Any other things I need to do?
