Debug Debian 4.0 Freezes

Hi I am using Debian 4.0 (Kernel 2.6.23 & GNOME) on a VIA CX700M2 Unichrome chipset.

Sometimes my system would just freeze and I am not able to do anything through keyboard or mouse. It's becomes completely dead and I have to reboot the system.

Is there anyway I can check in logs what is the last activity that happened before the freeze? Basically I would like to know what is the cause of the freeze.

And yes when I mention freeze, I mean you can do nothing. The clock stops, No Ctrl-Alt-F2 or Ctrl-Alt-del combination works.

Thanks

Check network. May be the box accept connections - SSH or serial console. Yes, also you can redirect logz to network, serial event to printer.

Thanks!

Do you know how can I redirect my log to the network?

Sure I will. The only thing is that I will have to wait until my system freezes randomly....
