debootstap (returned a value of 1) DOH!!
Installing debain 3.0 r2 on my old amd k6-2 compaq.
Primary Master 16gb western digital Primary SLave 10gb western digital Secondary Master removable HD slot (empty) Secondary Slave CD-ROM Did the installation and got to installing BOS, and recieved some debootstrap error (returned a value of 1) Whats the deal here? Mandrake and RedHat no problem?? Any Thoughts..... I checked google and forums but most times this error happens it gives more info TIA, Boyd |

Don't think its a bad cd-rom, it gets semi far in the installation?

figured it out. for some reason, it needs an ext3 partition as /. My problem was I had a fat32 partition as /.
