Debian + windows


I have a spare computer that i have currently on the side. i was wondering if i could install debian along side with windows and chooose witch to boot at a boot menu? if so could somebody point me to a faq as to where it would show me this. thank you

Sure, no problem. With the big G-buddy and the key phrases "GRUB Debian Windows" you should be able to find various howto's. Two links:

Don't forget the multiple dual-boot threads here on LQ.

If the box in question has the resources to support it, you should also consider VMware's (0-cost) VMserver.

In order of importance:
  1. RAM
  2. CPU speed
  3. free HD space
