Debian upgrade problem
I installed Debian/GNU 3.0 woody and it all worked perfectly. I recently updated to sid and also updated to KDE 3.2.2 and when it boots up and does the hardware detection, it comes up with eth0..... failed. I can still connect to the internet but only by using Connect to the internet. Also my firewall doesnt work either. The firewall I am using is firestarter. Any help to fix these 2 problems will be great
Thanx. |
have you compiled a custom kernel??
|
No its the same kernel 2.4.24

you need to make sure your network card driver is loaded. type "lspci", and scan the list to find your network card. do a google search for the name of the Linux driver module for the name you found in the list. then add that to the "/etc/modules" configuration file. that will birth that network connection right out on boot from now on.
|
or:
#modconf and look for your driver under 'net', reboot. |
Thanx but what about my firewall?
|
Reconfigure your firewall.
