recently, i am learning Debian.
i don't known why my consoles have not sysntax highlight .

last year i used SUSE , the highlight on SUSE console is very convenience ,
and this year i am trying Debian, but there seems to no console syntax highlight , it's not good.

include ls, but not restrict to ls.
/etc/init.d/..... start/stop/restart, etc.

in SUSE, always all keywords of display of shell command will be highlight.

ls is a typical sense.

that has to do with the startup scripts. debian obviously doesn't encase their scripts the same way suse does.

that'd take a lot of rescripting on your part to modify. perhaps somebody wrote a package for debain to modify all that, but personally i've never cared about the appearance of my boot process, so i can't help you there.

not really... that depends upon the program/script you are attempting to execute -- try
man programname
or
programname --help

to see what options are available
