Debian Stretch download problem

Hi there,

I tried multiple times to download the nonfree cinnamon live version of the ISO to burn to DVD and USB stick, but the installation failed with error of reading DVD or there is no disc in drive, I also create USB boot with the Linux Mint Debian build in tool but got the same error, any clue ?

I am not sure that it is the same issue, but on Debian forums I have seen mention of a flaw in the installer in the new images. You may have tumbled onto that issue. Those images are very new, and I would expect something like this would result in replacement images fairly soon. You may have to watch and wait, and add to the voices asking for a fix.

Meanwhile, according to the site http://forums.debian.net/viewforum.p...b67af8620e986d the work around is to use the netinstall image and the net install process. You might give that a try.

Yes, net install with firmware added worked well for me, at least in virtual machine. Here is link:

https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/u...i-arch/iso-cd/

That is multiarch, will work for both 32-bit and 64-bit PCs (i386 and amd64). If you would prefer just for one arch:

https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/u...9.0.0+nonfree/

you will find it in second link. You can also find full first DVD with firmware that you can use for install.

you need to use version 9.0.1 WARNING. leave root password blank during install. This is a know bug.
