Debian stops seeing network card

My debian boot suddenly stopped detecting my network card. I haven't toyed
with any packages lately, nor has the hardware stopped working, as the
network works fine in Windows. What can I do to fix this?

Do you have a realtek ethernet card?
If so, see this thread, especially post #12

Problem solved oddly by letting it sit powered off for a while. :P

It might have or have had a relation to power management then as the link tredegar posted suggestes for the realtek, you might still want to look into the issue to make sure it doesn't happen again.
