Debian setup (partman?) shrinks extended partition eliminating free space ?
Hi,
I was installing debian 5.0 and noticed strange behaviour. I had my partitions prealocated - and left a lot of free space inside extended partition for future data partitions. So used 'manual' option to partition. After I asociated partitions with mount points and wrote changes to disk I opened another virtual console and checked what happened using fdisk: The end cylinder of my extended partition was changed ! It was changed that way that it matched end cylinder of last logical partition inside extended partition. Now all my free space is gone - because all free cylinders are 'behind' extended partition. Is this a bug ? What should I do to fix my extended partition ? thanks Vilius |
